back to the beach

My whole life I've grown up along the west coast, until

my family moved to a state that has been in constant drought since the dawn of time...Utah.
I didn't mind being there too much, but missed the bombardment of culture, the freaks, the palm
trees and ferns, the roar of the ocean and the constant influx of creativity these things seem to give me. So it is no surprise that for the past few years I have been more than eager to find my way back west. One day I decided to quit my job and drive to San Francisco in search of a job and place to live. Needless to say, it didn't work out, and I wearily drove back to Utah in scattered thought about what to do next. I found another job, and then my job doing event marketing and managing an online column for SLUG Magazine, but it still didn't feel quite right.

I began thinking more and more about what I really want out of life and I knew
I needed to get out of Utah if I were ever going to come close to achieving the plans I
have in mind for myself. As if it were fate, I was out of the blue approached by a company in
LA whom I have done a bit of freelance work for in the past, wondering if there would be any
way I'd be willing to relocate to manage their social media and relations. It was an easy decision
to make, and here I am now, writing this post from my own LA apartment. I can safely say this is
one of the easiest changes I've ever made in my life, and can't help but feel this is where I'm meant
to be at this point in my life. I am beyond thrilled to be a step further toward achieving
my goals and am prepared to work harder than ever to see my career path take off
over the next few years.

This is truly a testament to hard work, focus and a

little risk taking. If you have a goal in mind,

do everything you can to move toward it and you'll

find things usually work out in your favor.
